About Maithan Steel & Power:
The Maithan Group is a Rs. 5000 mil­lion group with inter­ests in ferro-alloys, refrac­to­ries, sponge iron and steel. The group com­pa­nies enjoy a top 5 posi­tion in the refrac­to­ries and ferro-alloys sec­tors in India. The group has 5 man­u­fac­tur­ing out­fits in Jhark­hand, West Ben­gal and Megha­laya. The group exports are in excess of USD 6 mil­lion per annum through an inter­na­tional trad­ing arm based out of Mum­bai and Kolkata.
The group is in a growth mode and has reg­is­tered a steady 25% year on year rev­enue growth for the last ten years. The group is cur­rently set­ting up a 3.0 lakh MTPA inte­grated steel plant com­plex in Orissa. The pro­posed com­plex will have DRI, CPP, MBF, coke ovens, SMS and rolling mill facil­i­ties. The project dur­ing com­mis­sion­ing will be man­aged out of Bhubaneswar, which is 90 kms from the site at Duburi. The project is expected to be com­mis­sioned in 2006.
