Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. (TMS) is the US sales, distribution, and marketing unit for Toyota Motor’s Toyota, Lexus, and Scion brands. The Toyota Order Management System (TOMS) is replacing the current vehicle ordering system on the mainframe with an intranet n-tier architecture, distributed system. The TOMS umbrella includes numerous projects including Sales Analysis Planning, Ordering, Spec Management, Data Communications, Dealer Pipeline Management Systems (DPMS), and Vehicle Data Warehouse. The TOMS project is being built on a Windows 2000 platform and the TMC COSMOS project is hosted on a UNIX platform. We have ordering files that need to be exchanges between these systems.
