Per­form ini­tial Prob­lem Determination/Problem Source Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, which includes search­ing database(s)
for rediscovery/similar prob­lems, per­form remote access of client machine, when applic­a­ble, trans­fer prob­lem
own­er­ship to Prob­lem Man­age­ment Records(PMR) through IBM, gather per­ti­nent data for recreation/follow
up research before trans­fer the call.
Instal­la­tion, Con­fig­u­ra­tion, Per­for­mance mon­i­tor­ing in pro­duc­tion servers. (i.e. RS/6000).
Per­formed all stan­dard sys­tem admin­is­tra­tion on Unix machines (users, groups, backup etc).
Installing and Con­fig­ur­ing ESM server to con­form with com­pany secu­rity Pol­icy.
Cre­ate LVM struc­tures based on require­ment pro­vided by appli­ca­tion owner.
Increas­ing the file sys­tems on the fly.
Exter­nal stor­age are main­tained through ESS (IBM 2105-F20 & SSA 7133-D40)
Per­formed stor­age migra­tion between IBM 24265 to SVC stor­age.
Man­age­ment of Health check­ing issues and actions on all the appli­ca­tions.
Back­ing up & Restor­ing File Sys­tem on a Reg­u­lar Sched­ule.
Sched­ul­ing jobs through crontabs.
Installed and Main­tained Soft­ware Pack­ages & Patch’s.
Work­ing and trou­bleshoot­ing on day-to-day prob­lems via open­ing and clos­ing tick­ets.
Par­tic­i­pat­ing in change record meet­ing and approv­ing changes.
