Job Descrip­tion: An excit­ing oppor­tu­nity for a Soft­ware Test Engi­neer to work for an Inter­na­tional Soft­ware house in it’s Malad office in Mumbai.

Desired Can­di­date Pro­file: Sym­trax Lim­ited, an Inter­na­tional Soft­ware House,with a branch office located in Malad, Mum­bai for its test­ing and qual­ity assur­ance activ­ity. We pro­duce and deliver award win­ning Busi­ness Intel­li­gence and Elec­tronic Doc­u­ment Dis­tri­b­u­tion soft­ware solu­tions which are being used by more than 3,000 com­pa­nies world­wide in their day-to-day busi­ness oper­a­tions. We are proud to have some of the For­tune 500 com­pa­nies as our customers. 

We pro­pose the right can­di­date the posi­tion of Test­ing and Qual­ity Assur­ance Engi­neer. You will work in close co-ordination with the devel­op­ment team based in Europe. You will ver­ify and val­i­date the soft­ware pro­duced by the devel­op­ment team. You will be expected to set-up var­i­ous test envi­ron­ment includ­ing appro­pri­ate oper­at­ing system(s), rela­tional data­bases, or com­mu­ni­ca­tion sys­tems to ensure that the soft­ware is thor­oughly tested before release. You are expected to actively con­tribute towards improv­ing the test­ing and QA methodology.

You will report to a the team Man­ager based in Mum­bai and will stay in touch on a daily basis with the whole devel­op­ment team based in Europe to report soft­ware bugs or miss­ing func­tion­al­i­ties. You will be expected to qual­ify the com­pli­ance of soft­ware fea­tures with tech­ni­cal spec­i­fi­ca­tions doc­u­ment pro­vided.
You must have at least one expe­ri­ence of work­ing in each of the fol­low­ing area:
- Par­ti­tion cre­ation in order to install dif­fer­ents ver­sion of Win­dows
- Win­dows instal­la­tion (Win 98, NT, 2000, XP, 2003…)
- Ser­vice con­fig­u­ra­tion (SMTP, FTP…)
- Email soft­ware con­fig­u­ra­tion (Lotus, Exchange…)
- Net­work con­fig­u­ra­tion (VPN, router, IP…)
- Pro­gram­ming skills (VB, VBA, C, Java…)
- Data­base skills (SQL, data­base admin­is­tra­tion…)
- Win­dows secu­rity (Active direc­tory, fold­ers rights…)
- Man­ual Testing

You have good com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills in Eng­lish, both writ­ten and ver­bal and also excel­lent inter­per­sonal skills. You will have a batch­e­lors or equiv­a­lent degree in Com­put­ing. Your abil­ity to be a good team player and work inde­pen­dently will help you grow in our orga­ni­za­tion. A good under­stand­ing of test engi­neer­ing life­cy­cle, and design or automa­tion, is a key fac­tor for suc­cess. Soft­ware devel­op­ment knowl­edge will be an added advantage.
