Demon­strated Ora­cle application/database per­for­mance tun­ing
OEM(Oracle Enter­prise Man­ager) & TOAD (SQL,PL/SQL Edi­tor) expe­ri­ence;
PL/SQL would be an asset
Expe­ri­ence with Visual Source Safe (VSS)
Demon­strated expe­ri­ence upgrad­ing Ora­cle from var­i­ous ver­sions of 9i to 10g
Ora­cle par­ti­tion­ing, mate­ri­al­ized views & Ora­cle ‘trans­par­ent gate­way’ to Sybase ASE, & Ver­i­tas Netbackup

Pro­duc­tion sup­port skills includ­ing strong ‘Fire-fighting’ skills.…i.e. a demon­strated, very strong abil­ity to ‘think-on-your’ feet, dur­ing Pri­or­ity 1 application/database out­ages; includ­ing clear/proactive think­ing and very quick respon­sive­ness, dur­ing lengthy P1 out­age, tele­con­fer­ence bridges with the Cus­tomers; strong com­mand of English

Good knowl­edge of HP-UX and SUN SOLARIS UNIX & O/S

Expe­ri­ence with either SYBASE ASE or MS-SQL DBMS’s and data­base ‘SOX Hard­en­ing’ require­ments, would also be an asset
