Eli­gi­bil­ity:  BE/ B.Tech/ ME/ M.Tech/ MCA/ M.Sc./ B.Sc

Age As on 11.10.2006:
For Research Asso­ciate: 35 years
For Senior Research Fel­low: 32 years
For Project Assis­tant: 28 years for M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech. /M.E. /M.Tech and 30 years for Ph.D.

Gen­eral Con­di­tions:
1. The total dura­tion for which Project Assis­tant could be engaged would be five years. Where the dura­tion of the Spon­sored /Consul tancy Project is less than 5 years, the ser­vices will be co– ter­mi­nus with the dura­tion of the project. There would be no auto­matic shift­ing of Project Assis­tants from one project to another. On com­ple­tion of the tenure in one project, in case, one wants to apply for engage­ment in another project, he will have to go through the process of selec­tion by sub­mit ting a fresh appli­ca­tion under the new project. Appoint­ment under the new project would be made only after sub­mis sion of ‘No Demand Cer­tifi­cate’ and ‘No Dues cer­tifi­cate’ in the pre­vi­ous project and sub­mis­sion of res­ig­na­tion from the pre­vi­ous project. The max­i­mum dura­tion, for which Project Assis­tant could be engaged in dif­fer­ent projects taken together, will be 5 years, i.e. the total period of five years of engage­ment of Project Assis­tant in dif­fer­ent projects taken together should be counted only from 28.03.2003 onwards. The per­for­mance of the Project Assis­tants would be reviewed peri­od­i­cally so that any one not found up to the mark, could be replaced. As such, the offer of appoint­ment could be given for short dura­tion i.e. 6– months /1 year, which may be extended fur­ther based on the rec­om­menda tions of the Selec­tion Committee.

2.1 Leave: Project Assis­tant will be enti­tled for one day leave for each com­pleted month’s ser­vice.
2.2 Reser­va­tion: As regards reser­va­tion, if all things are equal, SC/ST/OBC can­di­dates may be given pref­er­ence over Gen­eral can­di­dates so as to ensure their rep­re­sen­ta­tion.
2.3 TA/DA: Project Assis­tant s engaged at Lev­els II, III & IV dur­ing offi­cial tour, will be enti­tled for TA/DA as per JRF, SRF and RA respec­tively, and those at Level — I based on the rates worked out on the basis of stipend paid, at par with reg­u­lar employ­ees draw­ing com­pa­ra­ble emol­u­ment s.
2.4 Med­ical Facil­i­ties: Project Assis­tants will not be enti­tled for any med­ical facil­i­ties either through CSIR Dis­pen­saries or under CS (MA) Rules, how­ever, under emer­gent cir­cums tances, Labs. /Inst t. may give emer­gency treat­ment / con­sul tation through CSIR Dis­pen­saries, but they will not be eli­gi­ble for reim­bur sement of med­ical expenses.
2.5 Reg­is­tra­tion for Ph.D: The Project Assis­tant will not be allowed to reg­is­ter him­self /her self for Ph.D. But Project Assis­tant may be encour­aged to qual­ify NET/GATE exam­i­na­tion, so that on get­ting fel­low­ship he reg­is­ter him­self /her self for Ph.D., in that event he will have to resign as Project Assis­tant. How­ever, the exist­ing Project Assis­tant s, who have already reg­is­tered them­selves for Ph.D., may be allowed to con­tinue their research work, with the con­di­tion that it should not ham­per the Project related activ­i­ties and no exten­sion beyond 5 years as Project Assis­tant will be granted.
2.6 There would be no com­po­nent of HRA, incre­ment etc. for Project Assis­tant s and the con­sol­i­dated remu­ner­a­tion to be paid to Project Assis­tant s may be called “Stipend”.

3. Can­di­date should pos­sess edu­ca­tional qual­i­fi­ca­tion as on 11.10.2006.

4. Can­di­date should con­sciously choose only one posi­tion in the area for which his /her can­di­da­ture is suitable.

5. Can­di­date is to be screened by the Screen­ing Com­mit­tee for appear­ing before the Selec­tion Committee.

6. Relax­ation of age for SC/ST/PH/OBC will be applic­a­ble as per GOI instructions

Process:
Can­di­dates can Walk-in in the Audi­to­rium of the lab­o­ra­tory, with com­plete appli­ca­tion (Bio– data) on plain paper giv­ing the full details inclu­sive of marks start­ing from sec­ondary exam­i­na­tion onwards along with lat­est pass­por t size pho­to­graph, orig­i­nal and attested copies of all cer­tifi­cates / tes­ti­mo­ni­als. Can­di­dates belong­ing to SC/ST/OBC/PH, should bring copies of cer­tifi­cates in the proper for­mat issued by the appro­pri­ate author­ity as per the lat­est instruc­tions issued from time to time on the sub­ject. qual­i­fi­ca­tion as on 11.10.2006. of age for SC/ST/PH/OBC will be applic­a­ble as per GOI instructions
